The Renaissance

Downtown Campbellsville™ is Kentucky’s Next Great City™.

The renaissance started by private enterprise in late 2007 and continues into the decade 2010-2020.

There are several contributing factors that spurred the downtown renaissance

  • New $25M Justice Center (Tower) 2009
  • The $50M capital campaign at CU and completion of Ransdell Chapel Tower (2007)
  • Renovation of Merchant Tower 2008-2011

Earn, Learn, Connect

  • Nearly a hundred new jobs in retail and restaurant were added downtown in 2008-2010.
  • Expanded Art & Science programs at CU include business, education, and nursing.
  • An OC-96 fiber optic data line links Downtown Campbellsville business and education interests to Atlanta for high speed internet.

  • Cruising – The 80+ year tradition continues every Friday & Saturday night 11pm to 1am.
  • Downtown Farmer’s Market is coming to a lot on Main Street (scheduled opening 2011).

  • Car Club shows – Hot rods, classic cars gather in front of the new 50′s diner Happy Days.
